During our very first meeting with Seng Yang and Ee Lune, they told us that they wanted to use grass field as the main venue of their photo shooting. I believe they wanted a Mother Nature setting, hence we decided that the venue will be the Botanical Garden at Penang.
Their concept for the shooting is very simple. Yes, no special request, no complicated ideas, just SIMPLE. At first I was quite concern that the photo will turn out to be too normal or rather too boring. But after doing some research on the places we are planning to go, I knew that it wouldn’t be too boring because the place is rather new to us.
Seng Yang and Ee Lune, I would say that they are really friendly and gentle. However, because of this, I was quite concern at first whether they will look shy, awkward, or whether I am able to get a candid shot of their interaction during the photo shooting session. But during the photo shooting itself, I was surprised the moment they smile to one another and to the camera. The camera definitely loves them!
So on the very first day of the photo shooting session in our studio, I decided to make a new background by putting together some black board and also some new wardrobe we just invested. It was quite a risk because we don’t usually shift or I should say change the background of our studio but to my surprise, the outcome was really good! We will definitely try more new background in near future!
As you can see from the photos, a part of it was taken in the very heart of Ipoh. We went to City Hall, and also to the street at Old Town. I have to highlight to you on the photos taken at the street of Old Town. As you all know, currently is the raining season and so, the sky is rather dark. But because of the weather, together with the lights that was there during the photo session, it actually gave a soft touch to the photos and made it look so much more romantic!
After the photo shooting at our studio and also Ipoh, we also went to several places in Penang for the shooting and the couple booked a room at Long Pine Hotel, Batu Ferringi, for photo shooting as well! So after I did some research on the hotel, I was really excited because the hotel is really modern yet simple, which fits exactly what the couple wanted!
So when we reached the hotel, I realized that we have lots of places such as the room itself, the garden area, and also the private beach to do the photo shooting. However, there are quite a number of challenges for us because there are so many people at places like the private beach! But thank God that we are able to find a place where the traffic is lesser.
Overall, the photo shooting experience was amazing. It taught me that the most important element in a photo shooting is actually the love of the couple, not the ideas or the background itself. Those are just tools to enhance or broadcast the love of the couple.
Well, SIMPLE is not bad at all.
